Organic beer handcrafted in Umbria.
It is called Merabirra (Blonde and IPA) and is made from barley malt cultivated on a marginal plot of about five hectares in Montefalco, next to the Sagrantino vineyards. It is based on ingredients exclusively from the Umbrian territory.
The idea and raw materials come from Marco Caprai, while the recipe was refined with brewer Matteo Minelli from Birra Flea in Gualdo Tadino (Umbria) which uses water only from local springs.
Marco Caprai emphasizes that making Merabirra is an additional opportunity for the territory of Umbria to show the richness of its potential. “It is a decisive factor for the development of the agricultural world to help networking”. Caprai explains the idea behind Merabirra : “we had a small piece of land that we decide to destine to experiment with the production of barley malt. When we produced this beer we discovered it to be a success!” Marco concludes: “I think that bringing companies together, networking, is now a decisive factor for the development of the agricultural world.”
