"With its effusive nose of yellow
roses and the full and silky yet fresh
and dry palate, this is a classic
modern Alto Adige gewurz. Light-
footed and full of Alpine freshness
at the long finish. Drink now."

Pouring from a tall and slender bottle, the Cantina Tramin 2021 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Selida is very floral with night-blooming jasmine, mountain flower and tuberose. Mid-weight in texture with waxy tones, it offers honey and fuzzy peach. That floral sweetness is followed by a pinch of sea salt or crushed quartz. With time, savory notes of dried sage and mountain herb also appear. Fruit is harvested from a steep terraced vineyard, and this value wine is aged in steel for five months. ML Dec 2022.

Tramin is the home of Gewürztraminer, and the village claims the best vineyards dedicated to the variety planted around the village the west bank of the Adige valley. Gewürztraminer has a distinctive reddish-yellow color with green hues when fully mature. The wine becomes rich and silky in texture, minerally and structured. It is an elegant wine with intense aromas and flavors of Muscat, rose, exotic spice and lychee fruit. Gewürztraminer has become one of the most popular wines produced in Alto Adige.

vineyards
A selection of vineyards with southwest exposure on some of the steepest terraces in the region at altitudes from 300-500 meters. The soil is calciferous loam with gravel. Extreme interplay of sunny days influenced by the Mediterranean climate and cool nights marked by the cold downslope winds from the surrounding mountains. The name "Selida" comes from Old High German and means "small farmstead", a tribute to the longstanding culture of smallholdings that still constitute the strength of Cantina Tramin.

This wine has an intensively shining golden yellow colour. It demonstrates a wealth of aromas including roses, lilies, spicy flowers, dried herbs and ripe exotic fruits such as mangos and passion fruit. In the mouth, it is rich in body and extract with finely spiced juiciness.

food pairing
Pairs wonderfully with food, especially antipastos with fish and ripe smoked cheese, white meat dishes and swordfish or seafood. Exciting as an accompaniment to spicy dishes, Oriental cuisine and spicy, aromatic creations.
