Fruit off Quarry Hill vineyard near Murrumbateman. A noir red with a purple tinge to the rim, then a decadent, structured wine follows. A mass of dark plums all spiced up with savoury oak following through on the full-bodied palate. While there’s a succulence within, there are also ripe, compact tannins keeping the wine firmly in shape and leading to a slightly drying finish.95 points.

The Single Vineyard range is site specific, showcasing individual style and personality, delivering wines of terrific nuance and detail. The McWilliam’s winemaking team continually strive for quality, pushing the benchmark for Australian winemaking to new heights.

The fruits used to craft McWilliam's Single Vineyard Shiraz were handpicked, cold soaked, fermented in stainless steel containers, and matured in new French oak hogsheads for 10 months. The base wine features a bright purple red colour lined by dark hues. The perfumed nose exudes juicy aromas of blueberries, dark cherries and violets coupled with toasty oak notes, while the lush and intense palate is rife with flavours of blueberry and vanilla oak. These flavours are supported by a layer of fine and chewy tannins, ending the wine in a smooth and enticing finish.
