41/36/20/3% petit verdot/malbec/cabernet sauvignon/other. Matured for 16 months in French oak (25% new). Delicious, in a word. There is plentiful tannin – fine, soft and shapely – and loads of fresh fruit: blackberries, raspberries, pomegranate, blood plums and red apples; with spice and additional flavours galore (dark chocolate, nutmeg, star anise, a strap or two of red licorice, fresh tobacco leaves and fennel). This is very good.

Palate Violets, rose and dark chocolate aromas are balanced on the palate by lively acidity and elegant

tannins entwined with redcurrant and berry fruit flavours that linger on the finish.

grapes were machine harvested in the cool of the night and crushed to open and static fermenters.
