ACCLAIM
A confluence of Blewitt Springs’ elevated freshness and purple florals, together with Seaview’s density, strawberry, kirsch and menthol. 50% whole bunches, fermented wild, with 14–18 days on skins. Lovely sap and flow until the finish, when I find the menthol element drying. The tannins, immaculate and refined as is the wont here, may suggest otherwise in time.

“From vines that go to around 70 years old, from two sites in McLaren Vale. Around two weeks on skins. Half of it all is retained as whole bunches in ferment/maceration stages.
Fragrant red with stewed cherries, mint and salt bush scents, Aussie bush notes and a bit of savoury nuttiness. Flavours similar, berries but here with cola, satiny texture, a nice swish of scrubby tannins, all finishes peppery-minty, fresh and pretty. Lovely expression of grenache, fresh and bright, with judicious savoury grunt.”
