Cameron Douglas MS 97 Points - Outstanding "A perfumed, complex bouquet with aromas of roses and ripe cherry, a soft raw sugar and baking spices scent with a core of silty soil minerality. Equally complex with a firm yet finely textured mouthfeel, harmonious synergies between fruit, minerality, tannins and acidity. With each taste the complexity expands with flavours of cherry and plum, forest berries and wild flowers. A Grand Cru level wine with a delicious, layered, perfumed, youthful and long. Best drinking from late 2022 through 2030+." Cameron Douglas MS, October 2021. 95 Points - "From a dry-farmed vineyard in the Taylor Pass and one...

Wine Advocate 93 points. This wine is new to my annual tasting repertoire and represents an exciting new discovery from Cantina Tramin. The 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva Maglen opens to a mid-weight approach and a nice sense of concentration that remains impactful but elegant at the same time. The wine is redolent of cherry, cassis, pressed violets and blood orange. There are some distant notes of earth and smoke with crushed rock as well. This release of 12,000 bottles is a terrific performance from a first-rate winery.ML Sept 2021. Decanter 92 points. James Suckling 92 points. James Halliday Wine Companion 97 points. From the Primavera vineyard at Woori Yallock, planted in 2001 on the same red soil as Wombat Creek. Both destemmed (55%) and whole-bunch components. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. A very bright crimson purple. So pure and perfumed with briary cherries, ripe redcurrants and freshly cut roses. Poised, juicy and energetic, the wine has so much tang and crunch, you barely notice that this is also structured finishing with long, gently puckering tannins. A wine with immediate appeal, but also one that will reward at least another 7-10 years in the cellar. 97 points. Philip Rich Published 24 May 2022

WINERY NOTES: Made with Pinot Noir grapes, aged in oak barrels for up to 14 months. Pinot Noir is a relatively uncommon grape variety in Piedmont, but it is very important for our family's winemaking tradition. In fact, we gave this wine the name of our ancestor Leopoldo Incisa della Rocchetta, among the first ampelography and wine scientist, who lived in the 1800s. Leopoldo Incisa created at the time a vast collection of vines from other regions, experimenting with the cultivation in his own vineyards on the hills of Rocchetta Tanaro. Pinot Noir became his favorite grape and the one from which he drew the greatest satisfaction. We keep this...

Tim Atkin MW 94 points. Intense, vivid opaque youthful purple-ruby appearance. The wine shows pronounced lifted floral perfume on the nose with a brooding and seductive dark berry fruit, musk, wild mushrooms and hints of iron, savoury richness and spice and an intense vibrant minerality. On the palate there are very pure Pinot fruit flavours on entry with red cherry and musk flavours coupled with fresh acidity. The wine has layered complexity with great elegance and finesse. Very fine lacy, almost powdery tannin on the finish.

Organically Certified BioGro 5438 | Moutere Clay Gravels | Dry Farmed | Low Cropping | Single Vineyard | Hand Harvested | Wild Ferment | Natural Spring Malo | Barrel Matured (20% New) | Unfined | Unfiltered | Vegan A classic. Rich, supple and, really dark chocolate. It’s true to site and season with a juicy, spicy core. A structured wine with not an ounce of unnecessary oak or fat fruit. The wine is aristocratically framed but still sneaks in a touch of seduction. Complete, intelligent, and speaks with clarity. We believe the 2017 sits alongside the finest Pinots we have produced.
