96 Points 'Full golden colour, brilliant. The bouquet is honeyed and rich, with some marmalade and fruit compote nuances, nutty background. In the mouth, it has intense flavour and is very frisky with elevated acidity, which undercuts the substantial sweetness. A glorious wine of great drive and energy.' Huon Hooke, The Real Review 23/09/20 WINERY NOTE: We chose the name ‘Meta’ for our botrytised, late harvested Riesling, as it embodies the remarkable change of condition the grapes undergo as they are transformed by noble rot over the final weeks of Autumn. From healthy fruit into shrivelled but concentrated, intensely sweet berries;...

Dry River Craighall Riesling 2016 (WF 94)
94 points! Pretty much the ‘dry’ Riesling from Dry River, with 6g/L residual sugar.Floral, spicy, subtle whiff of petrol, ripe lime and green apple. Juicy green apple and citrus flavours, gentle chalkiness to the texture, acidity that sits comfortably inside the wine, without jarring or being obtuse, then a grapefruity burst on the finish, with a pleasant pithy bitterness. High style. Wonderful to drink. Gary Walsh, Wine Front, 23 Nov 2017. WA 92 Just a hint off-dry at 4.5 grams per liter residual sugar, the 2016 Craighall Vineyard Riesling saw more time on its lees than previous vintages. At 11.5% alcohol, it's similar in style to a...
Dry River Craighall Riesling 2018
WINERY NOTE: The pale golden colour reflectsthat of freshness and vigor. Tropical peach and kiwifruit characters reflect the warmer vintage in 2018. However, since we picked this very early-14 March, we were able to maintain the subtle fragrancies we seek out in Riesling; lime sherbet, lemon zest and apple blossom. The additional benefit of an early harvest is that we retain a strong mineral acidity, which manifests on the nose in the form of wet river rocks and citrus blossom. The palate follows a similar pattern to the nose: dense with a touch of sweetness at the entrance which makes it feel broad, with ripe fruit flavours. We often see...
Mount Edward Drumlin Riesling 2021 (Organic)
The Drumlin vineyard sits in the Gibbston sub-region. It is a tiny plot that produces exceptional fruit. Typically the wines that are derived give " delicate white pepper and fennel seed notes over a core of fresh pears and peach blossoms plus a touch of herbs. With a great backbone of acidity on the light to medium-bodied palate, this off-dry styled wine has plenty of earthy / stony notes complimenting the apple and pear characters, finishing long." Wine Advocate.
Mount Edward Estate Riesling 2019 (Organic)
A more classical vintage for Central Otago with strong seasonal variations and lots of hot days cold nights. 2019 Riesling has orange/grapefruit peel at its core, a mineral pith like texture is the marker that makes this so special. Whole bunch pressed, fermentation in a mixture stainless steel barrels and tanks, wild yeasts, no temperature control and aged on gross less for 3 months. RS 6g/l Floral and citrus aromas, flavours of lemons, limes, and grapefruit characters, underpinned by mineral characters and refreshing acidity. 13 % alc, medium weight in an off dry style. The Wine Advocate – Lisa Perotti Brown Duncan Forsyth is one very...
Neudorf Rosie's Block Riesling 2020 (CD 95)
CAMERON DOUGLAS MS "Pure, varietal, distinctive and youthful bouquet with aromas of wild flowers and fresh white peach, sweet lime-flower and mandarin, apple and honeysuckle. Beautiful on the palate with a silky lite cream texture accentuated with fine lees, contrasting acidity and a core of fruit flavours that reflect the nose. Fantastic length and finish - the perfect aperitif style. 95 Points." (2020 Vintage).. Bob Campbell MW 95 points. Concentrated, mouth-wateringly dry riesling with citrus, lime, apple blossom and oyster-shell mineral characters. A perfect balance of subtle sweetness and crisp acidity builds pleasing tension and a...
