"There’s a unique floral and herbal edge to this, in the form of peppercorns, aniseed, licorice and five spice; wait for this to open up in the glass (decanting suggested), and along comes a cohort of dark fruit in the form of dark plums, mulberries and blackcurrants. Dense and flavorful, yet wild and pretty tannins envelop the mouth, coating layers of dark fruit and painting them in colorful hues. It’s full-bodied and full-throttle, but its beauty is understated and the acidity and fruit are playful and subtle." JS
The wine "Terra di Lavoro" takes its name from the province of the ancient Kingdom of the Two Sicilies which included the present territory of Caserta. The vineyards of Aglianico and PIedirosso grapes, located at 400 m. a.s.l. between chestnut and olive groves sloping down to the Gulf of Gaeta, on the slopes of an ancient extinct volcano, have been recovered by the owners with the same with which they were grown since Roman times.
Colour: Intense red and impenetrable, vivid and brilliant.
Aroma:The nose is fresh, balsamic, green and vegetable first, then fruity. Subtly spicy with wild fennel, white pepper and green tea.
Taste: The taste is mainly vinous, with a marked acidic sensation balanced by the dense body of cherry, blackberry, black currant and raspberry. The persistence is very long, both on the nose and on the palate.
