Here's a fun new discovery from Galardi. Opening to a luscious dark color, the 2017 Piedirosso Terra di Rosso shows dark aromas with tarry smoke and plummy intensity. Power and concentration are the message here, with oak spice, leather and cedar. There is some baked, hot-vintage cherry too. Keep the pairing flexible and the drinking near term.
